You once walked among secret rites and whispered truths, where faith met fear and devotion demanded more than prayer. Whether you still believe or fled screaming, you carry the scars – mental, magical, or otherwise. Some knowledge cannot be unlearned.
Did you join willingly, or were you raised inside the cult? What promise or prophecy held you fast? Do you still serve its goals, or seek to stop them from coming true?
- Equipment. A set of traveler’s clothes, your cult’s identification mark, a dagger, a magic scroll describing a minor incantation or ritual, a pack of candles.

- Backround Knowledge. You have advantage on ability checks related to your cult and it’s lore and dark rituals.
- Dark Communion. During a short or long rest, you may perform a quiet ritual of devotion (burning incense, whispering mantras, drawing sigils, etc.). After your ritual, you receive a vague, symbolic vision, whisper, or omen from your patron or doctrine. Ask the DM one yes/no/question about a creature, place, or event you’ve encountered recently. The answer may be cryptic but truthful.
