You have watched over the dead, dug their resting places, tended their markers, and learned their names. You know how to keep death’s peace – and how it feels when something breaks it. Among the living, you often feel like a stranger.

Were you raised in a cemetery or took the job by necessity? Have you spoken to the dead, or kept a dreadful secret beneath the tombs? What would it take to desecrate your own grounds?

  • Tools & Languages. None
  • Backround Knowledge. You have advantage on ability checks related to funeral rites, the afterlife, graves, and knowledge about the undead.
  • Whispers of the Departed. When you spend 10 minutes near a corpse or grave, you can commune with lingering echoes of the soul. Ask one yes/no question about the creature’s death or final moments: your DM must answer truthfully, though the answer may be cryptic or vague depending on the state of the soul.
