Your community represents where your character grew up: the culture, environment, and people that shaped their upbringing. It speaks to the values they were raised with, the world they knew as a child, and how they learned to see others.
For Veteran 5e Players
Mechanically Communities give you skill proficiencies (instead of backgrounds giving them), and nothing else. This is done to separate backgrounds a little, and give players more freedom with their character’s origin.
You can choose one from the following communities.
Here is an organized helper table, showing the selectable skill proficiencies from each Community:
| Community | Choose two from: |
|---|---|
| Highborn | Arcana, History, Persuasion, Religion, |
| Loreborn | Arcana, History, Insight, Medicine |
