There are 18 races total, 9 common and 9 exotic. Exotic races are rarer than common ones, they are less known in the world.
For veteran 5e players
You might notice that there is “Ability Score Increase“ and “Languages“ section. This is because I use Tasha’s system and all races can choose between all ability scores, to provide maximum creativity for players. Languages for races are not the best since an Orc who were raised among elves might never learn the Orc language. Now every character can learn every language, which is still not the best, but I digress.
